Social Security Administration Workplace Requirements Report

Richmond, CA

In an effort to align the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) long-term goals with its evolved occupancy needs, RAW International developed spatial reconfiguration strategies to improve organizational operations inside the Frank Hagel Federal Building. RAW utilized federal “Strategic Workplace Engagement” elements in the pre-programming and visioning process with SSA, including “Program of Requirements Plus” (PORPlus), the “Deep Dive” methodology, “Balanced Scorecard” technique, and asset disposition analysis.

RAW documented the SSA’s current space utilization, examined organizational relationships, measured staff performance, assessed furniture and equipment inventory, and sought out opportunities for maximum daylighting. The resulting custom-tailored Workplace Recommendations Report (WRR) documented RAW’s future workplace recommendations, intended to enhance the workplace environment, well-being, and maximize staff productivity.
