Los Angeles Southwest College

Los Angeles , CA

For more than seven years, RAW International has provided Los Angeles Southwest College with programming, feasibility studies, and design criteria for over $250 million in new construction, additions, and renovations on the 76-acre urban campus. In collaboration with campus and departmental stakeholders, RAW programmed new facilities, selected sites that optimized building footprints, increased efficiencies by retrofitting existing buildings for new uses, addressed aging facilities’ mounting repair needs, and reconfigured components of the master plan to accommodate future growth, support sustainable design, and enhance the student experience.

In addition, RAW developed the design criteria and performance specifications for new design/build projects, and led a team of professionals who scoped, budgeted, scheduled, designed, engineered, and cost-estimated projects on campus. RAW’s performance specifications provided the college project manager with “checks and balances” metrics to select the design/build teams, review the design/build documents, and monitor the construction process to make sure design intent, materials and methods, and budgets were adhered to.
